One of my friends were really lucky. He done a lot parallel reaction and solid, enantiopure products formed from most of them with +95% ee what is a really awesome thing.
Enantiomeric excess (ee) is a measurement of purity used for chiral substances. It reflects the degree to which a sample contains one enantiomer in greater amounts than the other.
Sadly when he tried this reaction on larger scale, no crystals separated and nothing was isolated from the reaction mixture.

reblogging here because i can see this being relevant to anyone who’s ever tried to get out of an abusive relationship

Reblogging because that last comment made me reread the whole thing in a new light and realize this could be vital information. So, putting it out there for everyone, and hoping no one ever really needs it.

If you listen to the end of tangled…. Rapunzel and Eugene didnt get married until several years later

    same with Aladdin and jasmine!

And Belle was trapped in that castle for months with Beast; I’m pretty sure at least a year.

Also Tiana and her prince were together as frogs for an indeterminate length of time before they married.

Tumblr gets schooled by the Disney fandom

Also let’s not forget Aurora was betrothed (which uhh, was a thing and some places still is).

Cinderella had to be locked in her home away from her prince whilst she knew he was looking for her.

I love how no one is trying to defend Ariel and Snow.

When Ariel was permanently turned back into a human by her father, we don’t know how much time passed between that day and their wedding.

Snow was under the sleeping curse for at least half a year. Remember the lovely commentary animated films used to do? At the end of the film, it states, “The Prince, who had searched far and wide, heard of the maiden who slept in the glass coffin.” Additionally, it shows changes in season.
And finally we don’t even see a marriage between The Prince and Snow.

    I love this fandom

    🙌👏

What didn’t worked first, it may work second time or the third, or fourth…. In this case this is the second experiment for preparing this catalyst.
Did you heard about Paul Ehrlich and his famous 606.-th experiment?
Paul Ehrlich was a German scientist who worked in the fields of hematology, immunology, and chemotherapy. Ehrlich discovered in 1909 that Compound 606 (after 605 unlucky experiment), Arsphenamine effectively combatted “spirillum” spirochaetes bacteria, one of whose subspecies causes syphilis. The compound proved to have few side effects in human trials, and the spirochetes disappeared in seven syphilis patients after this treatment. This was the first effective treatment for syphilis. So, never-ever give up(:

Just a refluxing solution under a fume hood.
Just a friendly reminder: When heating a crystal clear solution always add a boiling stone, since when something boils it releases energy as bubbles. If the bubbles do not form the solution can overheat and release it’s extra energy too fast. This could happen if the container is very clean and there is no where to form bubbles. Adding a piece of rough stone gives lots of surfaces for the bubbles to form and release the energy gradually.
